Safety Certification for North East Line (NEL), Singapore
The Land Transport Authority, Singapore appointed Atkins to assess and document the safety of the driverless North-East Line MRT system in Singapore, the world's first steel wheel to steel rail driverless (and highly automated) heavy rail mass transit system. The project comprised two comprehensive and rigorous demonstrations of system safety for the 21km wholly underground North East Line.
