Feasibility Study of Introducing Trolley Bus System in Hong Kong
ACL were appointed by TD to carry out this high profile multi-disciplinary study to assess the technical, operational, financial, institutional and environmental implications of the introduction of electrically-powered buses, including bus network planning, vehicle selection, infrastructure requirements and interface issues, operational constraints, implementation/safety considerations, environmental benefits, and cost/revenue assessments, with case studies for Central to Wan Chai corridor, Aberdeen to Ap Lei Chau, and the proposed South East Kowloon Development (SEKD) area.

 
     

Hong Kong Port Master Plan 2020
ACL were appointed as a sub-consultant to undertake the transport planning and traffic impact assessment for this multi-disciplinary planning, economic and engineering study to formulate a competitive strategy for port development for Hong Kong from now until 2020 and beyond, and determine the requirement, location, viability and impact of a future Container Terminal 10 (CT10) and its related infrastructure, including assessment for the River Trade Terminal, Mid-Stream Sites, and Public Cargo Working Areas .

 
     

Aberdeen Harbour Focus Study
ACL were appointed as a sub-consultant to undertake traffic, environmental and engineering aspects for this traffic planning study which intended to create a focal leisure/tourist attraction in the vicinity of Aberdeen Harbour .

 
     

Cycling Study
ACL were appointed by TD to carry out a study to identify the current role of cycling in Hong Kong's transport system comparing experiences in similar cities overseas; review the current standards/design guidelines in Hong Kong for updating; generate route proposals and facility improvement measures; recommend a transport policy on cycling for Hong Kong; and recommend the way forward in terms of policy, revised standards and guidelines, legislation, management, funding and an implementation strategy.

 
     

Non-franchised Public Bus Study
ACL were appointed by TD to s tudy t he improve ment of understanding the operation and finances of the 1,300 bus operators. Data collection requires interviews with over 100 operators, focus group discussions, a mail survey, telephone survey, and board/alight counts. Other aspects include database development and financial analysis of operators.
