TRAFFIC & TRANSPORTATION - PEDESTRIAN PLANNING

Study on Planning for Pedestrians
ACL were appointed as a sub-consultant for PlanD to manage the traffic and environmental studies for formulating a broad planning and development framework for comprehensive pedestrian planning at different levels including assessment of broad impacts and implementation mechanisms of the pedestrian proposals at Action Area Concept Plans in Central, Causeway Bay , Kwun Tong and Tai Po.

 
     

Causeway Bay Underground Pedestrian Link
ACL were appointed by MTR C orporation Limited to undertake an Engineering and Feasibility Study, including pedestrian/passenger forecast, transport planning and traffic impact assessment, on a major underground pedestrian link under Hennessy Road to relieve pedestrian / traffic conflicts at ground level particularly at the major pedestrian crossing adjacent to SOGO and link up the Eastern and Western Station concourses with linkage to adjacent developments, providing a number of additional MTR entrances at street level and significant modifications to the existing station to improve its accessibility and circulation within the station.

 
     

Pedestrian Subway Links to MTR Wan Chai Station
ACL were appointed by URA to undertake an Engineering Feasibility Study for the proposed pedestrian subway crossing underneath Johnston Road linking the URA H15 Development and MTR Wan Chai Station, including pedestrian/passenger demand forecast, transport planning, traffic impact assessment and temporary traffic management design involving tram tracks diversion.

 
     

Railway Station Planning
ACL have proven track record in undertaking railway station planning study and passenger flow analysis with computer program suites, e.g. PEDROUTE and LEGION; relevant railway projects include West Rail DD300, Sha Tin to Central Link SDC400 and SDC700, Causeway Bay Underground Pedestrian Link, Beijing South Station, etc.

 
     

Hong Kong Baptist University Pedestrian Linkage
ACL were appointed as a sun-consultant for Hong Kong Baptist University to undertake a Feasibility Study for a proposed pedestrian walkway system linking the existing and future premises among the three campuses to suit the Master Redevelopment Plan, including a traffic analysis to estimate the future pedestrian demand and desire pedestrian routes.
