KCRC West Rail CC230 Light Rail Grade Separation and Extension
This project involved the detailed design and construction supervision of a 4.4km extension to KCRC's existing Light Rail network in Tin Shui Wai. The scope of works included 1.5km of viaducts to provide grade separation at four key road junctions in Tuen Mun and interchanges with four West Rail Stations at Tuen Mun, Siu Hong and Tin Shui Wai.
Temporary diversions of the existing LRT system were designed and implemented to provide sufficient working space. Utilisation of adjacent highway structures for diversion provided cost effective solution. Encased steel girders were adopted for construction to reduce re-radiated noise and off site pre-fabrication minimized noisy construction activities which was environmentally friendlier to the surrounding areas. |
