Environmental Due Diligence - Land Contamination Assessment for Paper Manufacturing Plant
Groundwater and land contamination investigations were undertaken by Atkins in advance of land purchase by a private client as part of the environmental due diligence audit. The investigations were necessary to describe baseline conditions of the site, located on reclaimed land within an area zoned for industrial uses. Atkins formulated a cost effective and practical sampling methodology, and provided site supervision and quality control measures for soil and groundwater samples taken by the contractor. Results from the samples showed that no remediation measures were required for the land purchase. Atkins also provided the geotechnical engineering support for the site formation works
