RAILWAY STATION & SUBWAY STRUCTURE

Dubai Metro ¡V Al Rigga Underground Station
Atkins was appointed by the JT Metro JV to carry out the detailed design of one of the four underground stations of the Dubai Metro Red Line, named Al Rigga Station. It is a 3-storey reinforced concrete basement structure with 24m wide and 122m long internally. The main station as well as the entrance structures will be constructed as a deep basement within permanent diaphragm walls by top-down construction method of maximum excavation 28m below ground. The roof, concourse, intermediate and base slabs acting as lateral props provide resistance to the external pressure on the perimeter diaphragm walls.

Following the design of Al Rigga Station, Atkins was further appointed by the JT Metro JV to carry out the detailed design of two underground stations of the Dubai Metro Green Line , named Saeediya Station and Salah Al Din Station .

Both underground stations comprise 3 levels of reinforced concrete basement structure with 24m wide and 122m long internally. Both stations are planned on a column-free space and all levels of slab are designed to span 24m between diaphragm walls.
