Extension & Renovation Work for LG/F to R/F of Lady Lily Shaw Building and Extension of Hospital Main Block of the Hong Kong Baptist Hospital in Kowloon Tong
Atkins was appointed by Hong Kong Baptist Hospital to provide design services for renovation works of Lady Lily Shaw Building & Main Block Building of the Hong Kong Baptist Hospital in Kowloon Tong. Major Construction included provision of 2 additional floors and 2 new lifts at LLSB, establishment of new annex to Main Block Building , renovation on existing Operation Theatres. Our scope of services covered the detail design, BD approval processes, tendering and project management.

The works to be carried out under this Contract comprise the construction of substructure and superstructure of Extension for the Hospital Main Block from LG/F to 3/F of Hong Kong Baptist Hospital, which include but not limited to, construction of hoardings, demolition of existing canopy, excavation and lateral support with pipe piling, new extension block with footing (R.C.) and extension of existing drainage system etc. provided that traffic flow could be maintained throughout the construction period.

After the extension of the main block building, there will be a 3-storey building connected to the existing main block building. The basement of the new extension building i.e. LG/F comprises a corridor, a new transformer room, a new switch room and an oil pump room. The existing driveway will also be maintained via the new extension block while additional OT rooms and wards will be located at the new 1/F and 3/F respectively. The 2/F will be reserved for E&M services.
