Independent Checking Engineer for Deep Bay Link – Southern Section
Atkins was appointed by China State JV (Main Contractor of this project) to be an independent checking engineer for this highways project. The contract value for this project is HK$1.213 billion and the anticipated completion will be In June 2007. The major civil engineering works involved for this project are widening of existing Yuen Long Highway and construction of viaducts with total length of 3.6km linking the Deep Bay Link – Northern Section with the Yuen Long Highway at Lam Tei.

Due to the considerable amount and the complexity of the temporary works, an independent checking engineer has been specially assigned by Atkins to be stationed full time on site to ensure the temporary works constructed safe and functioned properly. This special arrangement has been proved be successful with outstanding safety records and smooth construction programme obtained for this project.
