CLP Substation at Hung Hom Bay
Atkins was employed by the Simon Kwan & Associate Ltd. to provide the structural & geotechnical services for this CLP Substation. We were also the Registered Structural Engineer of the project to provide professional service including the design of the entire structure and the recommendation of new material and facilities to the client.
The development consists of two buildings - a three-storey 11kv main building and a two-storey 11kv switchgear building. The site area and gloss floor area approximately 3,771m 2 and 2,811m 2 respectively. The construction period including the foundation and superstructure was 480 calendar days. The construction cost is approximately HK$1,673/ft 2 .
The substation building forms an integrated community with high quality facilities and services provided to the CLP Power. The substation building has three 132/11kv transformer bays and a 132kv switchgear room. Other facilities include cable basement, 11kv switchgear room, low voltage transformer room, low voltage switch room, protection / control room, fibre optic room, battery / charger rooms, 11kv capacitor bank rooms, fire pump rooms and plant equipment room. In summary. It is a high quality substation building to accommodate the CLP Power's facilities for the permanent electricity supply. |
