Saint Joseph's Home for the Aged, Sheung Shui, N.T., Hong Kong
The development consists of three buildings: a 6-storey Main Building , a 3-storey Pavilion and an Energy Outhouse. The Main Building and Pavilion are environmentally friendly structures. A 40mm air gap is provided between the external concrete wall and granite cladding to form an insulator so that heat energy is trapped. Three open courtyards were designed inside the main building which are open from basement level to roof level. They provide natural and cross ventilation and a source of natural lighting. In addition, seven internal gardens are distributed on each floor.

Hotel Development at 146-164 Tung Lo Wan Road, Hong Kong
This 33-storey building is designed to be a high class hotel located in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong . It consists of 326 deluxe rooms, restaurants and swimming pools. The high quality curtain wall facade allows a good sea view for visitors.
The hotel is sited in a congested area with existing buildings at both sides and backed by sloping ground with an old masonry retaining wall at the rear. Site constraints and difficult geology posed great challenges in the design and construction of the substructure.
The superstructure takes the form of a coupled shear wall and slab constructed with reinforced concrete for the guestrooms area with a transfer podium structure below to suit the restaurant, plant room and foyer layout. |

Hotel and Casino Development at Ponte 16, Macau
Atkins has been involved in the civil and structural design for the development which is located at Inner port of Macau . The development consists of a 20-storey high, 5-star hotel with 420 guest rooms on top of a 5-storey casino with 27,000sq.m area. Together with the shopping and carpark area, the total floor area will be 126,500sq.m. The casino is scheduled to be completed in mid 2007. |

Wuhan Times Square, China
Atkins was commissioned to provide structural and civil consultancy services for the comprehensive development situated at Wuhan in China.
The development involves 2 blocks of 29-storey offices and two residential blocks of 51-storeys and 56-storeys. The 4 towers are connected by a 2-storey club house and commercial podium together with a 2-storey basement for car parking and refuge purposes.
The 4 towers utilise a reinforced concrete framed structure with a central structural core. The foundation system comprises 1.2m diameter bored piles. |

Hong Chi Pine Hill School , Tai Po , N.T., Hong Kong
Atkins provided structural and geotechnical services for design, tender preparation and supervision for the superstructure, foundation and site formation work for the school redevelopment.
The redevelopment comprises of 2 blocks of 4-storey high building with classrooms, interview rooms and multi-purpose function rooms. Three high quality skylights are provided at various locations to allow natural light into the building. In addition, glass canopies are designed to provide covered walkway linking various locations of the school blocks for students. |

Property Development of KCRC Tsuen Wan West Station, Hong Kong
Atkins was appointed by KCRC as the Structural, Civil and Geotechnical Engineering Consultant to provide support to the property development of the CDA development above the KCRC Tsuen Wan West Station.
The study was aimed at obtaining S16 approval as well as preparing the joint venture brief. We carried out the conceptual design of the 50- storey residential towers with associated transfer structure. We were also commissioned to provide the design and construction supervision services for the bored pile foundations for the towers located above the public transport interchange in accordance with the requirements of the railway protection criteria. |

CLP Power Substation at Hung Hom Bay, Hong Kong
Atkins was commissioned to provide civil and structural design for the substation at Hung Hom Bay. Value management was used in the planning of the substation ensure a solution which satisfied architectural, E&M as well as structural requirements within the limited site area and time schedule. |

Office Development at 7-11 Li Yuen East Street , Central, Hong Kong
Atkins was commissioned to provide Registered Structural Engineer services for the office building which is 120 meters high with 32 floors in the Central Business District of Hong Kong. It is supported by steel H-piles with shear walls and mega structure as the wind resisting elements. |

Independent Commission Against Corruption Headquarter Building at North Point, Hong Kong
Atkins was commissioned by the Main Contractor to provide Registered Structural Engineer services for the ICAC Headquarter Building . This building is about 120 meters high with 25 floor levels. The site area is approximately 3,800m 2 and the total gross floor is about 39,200m 2 excluding carparking spaces. Besides office space, the Headquarter building also incorporates with shooting range, training hall, theatre, museum, exhibition gallery and recreation facilities. The building structure is supported by bored pile foundation with reinforced concrete frame structure acts as the wind resisting elements. |
